YEAR 1 COMPLETE

I recently completed 12 months of volunteering at the Community Giving Foundation! Serving as a board member has been a true blessing. Over the last year, I was gifted the opportunity to attend numerous events, growing my professional network tremendously.

In 2025 the Community Giving Foundation took on the hefty process of constructing their next strategic plan. I attended multiple sessions and had very in-depth discussions with community leaders.

This was my first time participating in strategic planning sessions for an organization, and I have found that I am very passionate about this work. The organization came together for 5 day-time sessions throughout 2025, where everyone discussed community needs, and plans for securing the Foundation's long-term success. Needless to say, I am excited for the Foundation to announce to the public what we came up with!

Leading with Values

Each Month I chat with my CU Alumni Mentor, Shawn Rossler and debrief on key leadership values.

Our sessions have focused on:

- interpersonal communication

- giving and receiving feedback

- identifying how different leadership styles best work together

- active listening

- conflict management styles

- Setting and sticking to S.M.A.R.T. Goals

PROJECT DOCUMENTS
SeAL Challenge

Through my Internship at the CMCC, I get to work with the Chamber's Foundation in executing the 2025-26 Sea Air and Land Challenge for local school districts.

The Sea Air and Land Challenge is a STEM initiative in which teams of high school or middle school aged students learn about the engineering process through the design and build of a robotic system. The systems are then used to compete in challenges relevant to the Department of War which mimic missions encountered by the military, national security agencies and first responders.

So far, I have practiced key professional skills such as recruiting school districts to participate, scheduling multiple in person information presentations, and coordinating with vendors/caterers/keynote speakers. My favorite part has been awarding each school district with our EITC funded checks so that the students can participate for free!
